2003 6.2 Oil Pressure Problems.

Less than 15 hours new 6.2 with oil pressure problems. After running the boat for 1 hour or so the pressure gauge went down to 0 no alarm. Then it came back up to 16 or so. Lifted the eng cover and the lifters were making a racket. boat never heated up or shut down. drove back to the ramp at idle and called the dealer. they called today and said they can't find anything wrong. no lifter problem and 16 LBS of pressure is normal.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you give it another run, tee in a mechanical oil pressure guage to verify your numbers. The noisy lifters that you heard though, are very suspicious. It makes it really hard to believe that something is not wrong.

After two weeks of Merc Factory reps they still have no idea on the problem.The best they can come up with is fuel is getting into the oil.

They are replacing with a new crated motor.
