I'm replacing my old decals with new ones. I have removed them this morning with a heat gun and have to scrub off the old glue residue. What do you recommend to remove the old residue? thanks

WD-40 has worked for me in getting glue residues off from decals. Some solvents are too hot for the gel and may damage it. Give it good wash after using WD-40.

I've had luck with bug and tar remover (old #7 is the brand i had), which is basically kerosine, i believe. I just removed the stick on bilge stripe on my 34 footer, and the glue stayed on all the way around. I had to use enamel reducer (ppg, i think) which took it off easily. Whatever you try, do a test spot first. I try to go from least agressive to most caustic when using chemicals such as these.

I second the Ronsonal lighter fluid
I use it all the time in business
will not mar anything yet?
Another thing that works very well is mineral spirits IE: brushing thinner, I am pretty sure thats all the 3M stuff is and a lot cheaper. If any of this stuff runs down onto your boot stripes wipe it of immediately it may loosen them. I am half way through a big job like this right now on one of my signs.
