A local marine guy told me all v6's use the alpha with the 1.84 ratio. Is this true. I've looked, but can't see where it says the ratio on the outdrive. Where should i be looking.
It's a 16 with the 4.3.x, 4bbl and a 23p mirage and i can spin just slightly over 5000rpm and slightly over 50 when i'm alone. Any help is greatly appreciated. I think i should try out a 25p mirage.

Yes, they all use the 1.84:1. The four barrel 4.3lx/180 should top out at 4800 rpm stock. You should be able to test other props, cause you can obviously pull them. Are you only interested in single driver top speed?

Is that a mirage plus or mirage? I doubt you can turn a 25 mirage on you setup. I would try a 25laser2. I turn a 24 laser2 at 5000 57 mph on gps. with the 190 4.3(1998).you will loose mid range and hole shot but your top end will go up a lot. Also you should be running faster than 50 at 5000rpm with that prop. more like 55-56. the laser2 will probably take you to 57-59 but you will loose in other areas. just depends on what you want. the laser2 is smaller in dia. and has thinner blades.
