Just wondered in all the boats you own, how many hours of boating you do in a year? I put about 175 hours a year on my Z-33.

FYI - I'm sure that on the West Coast of Florida, John Mitchell (Bea's Nest), beats everybody by a mile.........OOPS, sorry, no make that Joe (CUDA) & Debbie.........

Being that I live near a mud puddle of a lake, we only put on about 40-50 hrs a year on our Z22. Our boating seaon is about 6 months long.

I have a year round boating situation. ( albeit, no wheres near as warm as FLA in the winter but never ice,...we ocean...40 degree winters...)

My last ride, and I used it at every avail, had 70 hours on it after 2 summers. Boat was actually 3 years old when done from new. This includes the anal flush time from salt water.

I have to stop working and start enjoying...

What a painful question this year... With all the rain and other obligations, I've spent more time at the DMV titling and registering my boats than in the water..

Q. How many aeresol cans does it take to generate enought global warming to get an extra month's boating season? (With our luck in the NE, it will must be 4 more weekends of rain anyway)

We boat year 'round down here, so we'll push 200-250 per year on both boats. We've not missed a weekend since March! This has been the BEST summer ever! :D

Due to small lakes and 6 day work week we will only put 40-50 hours on the boat a year. However we do put in a lot of anchor time just relaxing on the lake. We go from April to October ever chance we get.

I would have to say that I get to use my boat a lot more than most. I don't believe anyone would ever call me a fair weather boater. Sometimes I will put the boat in the water just to run up the river to get a burger or sushi and a beer for lunch/dinner. My motors were put into service in May of 2002 and as of August 2003, one motor has 534 hours and the other 512.

I will have to say that I do a lot of fishing and that is where the hours come from. During certain fishing trips we may leave the dock at 6/7 AM and run 60-120 miles and not get back in until 4/5 PM in the afternoon. If you only did that ten times a year it would be 100 hours. The majority of the hours are probably spent trolling or cruising.

John

Not sure what I am going to do when my boat goes back to the factory in October????????

I am a 15 min drive to Lake Ontario. Over the last 3 yrs I have averaged 1 Hr.a year. Mind you I did 2 hrs this year alone. Now if I could just figure out how to get the trs drive to trim all the way in so I am not looking at the moon all the time, I could double my Hrs this year..Ed

Donzigo, I live twelve minutes from the water. We go out EVERY weekend between March and October, usually Friday, Saturday and Sunday. When it gets cold, we slow down a bit. I log every trip for future captain's license upgrades. :D

Our boating season is pretty short up here, considering there is ice on the Bay from late November until late March. So, we have to hit it pretty hard in the summer time! I average about 75 hours a year.

I live on the lake and just have to lower it out of the boathouse, 6 month season, 150 hours on Donzi and 125 on Mastercraft.

Not enough for this Florida boy! Work, rebuilding an old waterfront house, honey doooze, rain, and fixing broken boats, have all effectively kept me off of the water.

Here are the sad statitics:

71 hours on the X-18 since I built the 383 engine and started using it for the first time nearly four years ago.

136 hours on the Magnum since I bought it way back in '96, and only about 40 hours on the new engines that I built for it about three years ago.

22 hours on the 16 since I replaced everything "black" over five years ago.

Well at least nothing's worn out. eek!
