To run your engine in the driveway, they make a something that you hook a garden hose to. What is it called, and where can you purchase one???Ed PS the garden hose hooks up to the fitting on the transom and the thingamagig ties into the hose going to the sea water pump...

:D Try www.westmarine.com (http://www.westmarine.com) and also www.skilimited.com (http://www.skilimited.com) we call them "Muffs" and I have the dual side feed ones that come with a female end to attach to your hose. I keep them with me always when Trailering the Donzi. I think the dual feed are termed professional vs the standard muffs.... look under flushing systems...we use these in conjunction with the Saltaway products to do our Hometown Rally Flush after the Florida Event....works like a champ!

Good Luck

This works great for me!!

Well made and easy to install Perko Flush (http://www.boatus-store.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=20002&langId=-1&catalogId=20002&productId=91920)

Hi....you might consider a Guardian..... www.mstguardian.com (http://www.mstguardian.com) I have a Blackhawk with the 502 and have installed this. I've only had the boat since May (which is when I installed the flush), but am very happy with it (both the boat and the flush!) This is my first post, and thanks for the good info that everyone has been posting.

Ed,

-------Am I correct in thinking that your Criterion has a TRS drive? If so you have a transom pick-up,yes?If so,what we used to do was drill an appropriate sized hole in the pick-up and thread it with a pipe thread. Then make up a fitting to accept a water hose.Turn the hose on,start your motor and then hold your hand or a towel over the pick-up.Water will then be sucked upward into the motor, and motor will be flushed after an appropriate time. You can take the towel off the pick-up after the water gets sucked into the motor and water will continue to be pulled thru.Plug the hole with a brass plug when not in use.I havent done it to my Corsican, but havent had to,yet.
-------Although we used to do this and it worked,Im not sure that there isnt an easier way.Since Poodle has a TRS,and is in salt all the time, maybe he can tell us the accepted method of TRS cleansing..........Bill S

The Criterion came with a flushing system but no longer works. More water comes out of the pick-up than through the engine. I could not find any info on the part.BUT thanks to the threads everyone supplied,I found the item.. It is a Perko Flush Pro.. Thanks to everyone. Boat is finally in the water after over two years, and lots of questions to follow...Ed

I purchased a Tempo dual flusher from Bass Pro Shop for $24.99 (model 963 PMF), and tried it out last night for the time. Works really great !

Any of you guys with pumps in the drive should use a Flushette on the drive to avoid burning the pump out. I have seen guys use the transom kit with the check valve removed there by supplying water to the drive it works Ok.
