THE REPAIR SHOP ADMITED LIABILITY AND IS FIXING THE DRIVE SHAFT AND RELATED PROBLEMS.
TO RECAP, I HAD AN ACCIDENT AND HIT THE BULK HEAD GOING IN REVERSE. IMPACT WAS MADE ON THE BUT OF THE PROP. THE SHOP ENDED UP HAVING TO REPLACE THE DRIVE SHAFT AND OTHER RELATED PARTS. I HAVE AN ALPA 1 DRIVE WITH A CLEAVER PROP.
LAST NIGHT, I WENT DOWN TO LOOK AT THE REPAIRS.
I NOTICED WHEN I SPIN THE PROP BY HAND IN EITHER DIRECTION, IT SPINS ABOUT 2 FULL ROTATIONS. DURING THE ROTATION, I HEAR RUBBING OR FRICTION. BEFORE THE ACCIDENT IT SEEMED TO SPIN WITH NO FRICTION. ALTHOUGH THE PROP LOOKS FINE, COULD THE PROP HAVE A SMALL WARP IN IT FROM THE IMPACT?
THE PROP MADE IMPACT ON THE BUT END NOT THE FINS.
CAN THE SHOP SAY THE PROP SUSTAINED NO DAMAGE WITH OUT TESTING IT. IF THEY WERE TO TEST IT, HOW WOULD THEY DO IT? COULD THEY DO IT THEMSELVES OR HAVE TO SEND IT OUT TO A PROP SHOP? PLEASE LET ME KNOW?

I would borrow a dial indicator and check the prop shaft, also occasionaly you will get new wheel with like MP said a shifted or cocked hub. I would not run it till you check things out, these guys tried to wiggle out of fixing it and will say you did something after it was fixed. The dial indicator is the only really good way to be sure.

Can you guys explain this to me in elementary language. I am a little confused. I know the shop put a new drive shaft on the drive. Is the hub part of the prop or is it a seperate part?

The hub is the center part of the prop. There is a rubber bushing that is between the brass splined piece and the stainless-steel portion. The stainless part may have shifted on the rubber piece.

If it shifted, how do you fix it??

You will have to bring your prop to a propellor repair shop.
