WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOO, what a run!! If any of you get up to Northern Michigan pulling your 18' be sure to put in at the Mackinaw City Marina and take your Donzi over to the Island, It will be the ride of your life!! TON-O-Fun!! We had a total of 4 people in the ol' BarrelBack and she handled like a dream. Yes, we spent plenty of time in the air but never had a hard landing. the waves were 1-3' with winds 10-15 knots out of the west. Considering we were at a bit smaller than the typical boat crossing over there (under 30') we had to find a kind enough dock owner on the island that would allow us to moor up for the day.........it was no problem. We dropped the girls off at the bar overlooking the harbor and Marina and pulled around to the Arnold Ferry pier. We tied off and we were still 10' below the pier, luckily there were enough old dock pilings that we were able to scale up and easily make it to the dock. They charged us a buck a foot but hey, to take the ferry across was 16 bucks per person for round trip! Over all it was a great day. On the way back we of course had to cross under the great Mackinack Bridge. We did get her up to about 70mph (speedo) at one point...but the girls weren't real  keen on hangin up there to long. Anyhow, before the weekend was up the only damage done was a seat pedestal seperated from the passenger seat from the brother in-law and I having a little to much fun out in them waves! Well worth the fun! Lookin forward to St. Clair at the end of August!
