What were the engine choices for the 1995 16' donzi? What speeds can I expect with a 4.3 litre?

Thanks in advance!

Try the search feature there have been some excellent posts on speed, proping, the need for trim tabs etc. Great little boat, I also have a 16 with a SB Ford. Happy Donzi Daze!

M.O.P.

Did your boat come with a small block Ford, or did you upgrade your self? What is the displacement/ H.P.? I bet it flies!

Sam Pilato has a 96 16 with a 350 and i have a 97 with a 350... i do not know if the 350 was available in 95 or not... but the 305 and the 4.3 surely were...

mid to maybe upper 50's for the 4.3 and it's V8 counterparts is pretty much common...

I don't know about flying but it does feel good when it gets loose and skittery, its better on cool choppy days. It came with a Ford 302/OMC package, block and one head were shot had swallowed some water, so I built another 302 rather than buy all new accessories for a SB Chevy. Not sure about HP has a mild cam, 30 over, 351 heads and a two barrel. May play with it this winter been gathering a few goodies.

I have a 95 with the 4.3lx (180 H.P.) and it buries the needle on my 55mph speedo.

The other engine choice for 95 was the V-8 that only produced 220 H.P. since that is the max H.P. allowed for the 95.....I think!!

From what I have seen and read they offered the 260HP Merc package also not sure of availability by year. Also if you go back through the old posts there were some higher HP ones made years back. You can bolt in a small block of higher HP just don't hammer the drive, I believe its an Alpha which does just fine if not beat on.

A 95 16 with a 4.3 will run 55 solid, If you have the Vortech V/6 4.3 you can hit 60mph with a Stilletto prop.
