Does anyone know of a bronze lined one for SBC's?

I don't know of one. I use a regular aluminum one in my 18 with raw water cooling. After 2 years with a lot of salt boating the passages look fine. If I get another 2 seasons out of it I will call it even and just get a new one. They are pretty cheap.

If I can't find one, I think I'll get an air gap and have it anodized. I think it will retard the corrosion.

You can get it powdercoated or HPC coated, and that'll help a BUNCH either way. Also, put an anode stick in one, or both, of the tapped sender provisions in the water ports. One each front, and rear. You'll be fine..

Buizilla, what is HPC coating?

High Performance Coatings, they are big in the race circles.. Also, Jet Hot and a couple others mimick the same process..

I used to use a place called Baxter Engineering in St Augustine, Fla for ALL my race car stuff. Dunno if they are still around or not. Fantastic work. They had a stainless coating that was bright and undestructible. We had them do the headers on all our alchohol race cars. I'm sure their stuff would hold up.

I got 2 cents on this one, we have had several Merc bonze lined manifold rot through. Our guy is welding them then applying epoxy tar to the water passage, time will tell. I feel the mixing of the metals is making a battery. Anyone knows that a bronze prop will burn an drive to nothing in real short order thats why there are no bronze props available any more for for out boards or stern drives. I would like to try thr powder coating or similar.

Cuda here is a good place to check out, do you know which models will work for a marine appilcation. If you find what you want maybe powder coating or the high preformance coatings mentioned above.

I wonder if powder coating would do well in the water passage.
