Just pulled the engine in my '68 16' Ski Sporter. It has a 302 with a 200 Volvo outdrive. Does anyone know the numbers for the shaft bearing and seal for the Volvo bellhousing. My housing uses only 1 bearing. The bearing was in pieces and it will be cheaper and faster to get the pieces at a local bearing distributor than to order them from Volvo. Has anyone saved the numbers?

In spite of the fact that almost all our stuff over here in America is still in inches. Alomst all bearings are metric so odds are really good that a good bearing house will have what you need in stock in about five different variations: open ball, shielded on one side only, shielded on two sides, sealed on one side, sealed on both sides, and with or without snap ring grooves...

Take the pieces to the bearing house -- or the shaft and housing, so they can measure them, and buy you a new bearing.

The last one I bought for my drive was about $8.00. I got it w/ seals on both sides so I didn't have to worry about lubrication or water...

Shaft seals, on the other hand, do come in inch sizes. Although mine didn't have any shaft seals, if yours does, you'll need at least the old seal or the housing and shaft to get the match you need -- and the bearing house still may not have exactly what you need. I've had much less luck finding a good seal match at a bearing house...
