Hey out there,

I'm getting ready to pull the engine on my 1986 22' Classic to freshen it up. It's the 300 hp Tempest 350 so there's plenty of room to maneuver. We've got it pretty well stripped down and are ready for the "extraction". Could sure use some "been there, done that" advice and moral support. I'll follow the MerCruise Service Manual but figured some practical do's and don'ts might keep me from @#!*? it up. Thanks!

Tag all the wires
Take notes ,last off, first back on
Try not to move the lower nut on the stringer mounts, so it will be easier to align the engine after installing.
Removing exhaust manifolds will make the engine alot lighter.

Murph,
You may want to take a few pictures before removing the engine. Photo's helped me with the plumbing.
How are you lifting the engine? Where are your lifting points? When you start lifting the engine, take it slowly, there always seams to be a wire or hose that wasn't disconnected.
Good Luck. It's a lot easier then it sounds.
