Outdrive Model Question

I bought a 1970 18C a few weeks ago. I know the outdrive is a volvo, but how can I determine what model it is? The only label I can find looks like its in German and I dont see any numbers that look like a model #.

It's most likely a 270 or a 280.

The 270 has the exhaust port (not used) mounted as part of the vertical trim tab -- a big, ugly thing directly aft of the prop.

The 280 will have the exhaust port (again, not used) as a horizontal slot that corresponds with the back edge of the cavitation plate. It might have a rubber flap over it attached by screws along the top edge.
