This boat was sited at an abandonded yard in Miami. Appears to be a "one of a kind" Donzi knock off produced by Play-Doh Marine in the early 70's. It was apparently constructed without the use of a mold...

O.k., O.k. its just what happened one day when my 4 year old asked me to play with her and her new batch of Play-Doh!! I tried, but its still a little lop sided. I've often thought a scale model (one that actually looked good) would be cool. Wonder how tough it would be to get a plastic model company like Monogram or Revell to produce a Donzi Classic 16 or 18?? When Miami Vice was popular they produced a good scale model of Don Johnson's Wellcraft Scarab. Maybe a letter or two to some model companies. A classic Donzi model on the desk at work would be cool! Anybody have a cousin or something that works for Monogram???

I like the Mr. Bill thing! I'd make one, maybe with a "Mr. Sluggo" wreaking havoc in a black Play-Doh Glastron (standard bad guy boat in several 007 films)?? Trouble is the Play-Doh Marine Donzi pictured above is only about 3.7 inches long. That would make for a proportionally mighty small Mr. Bill!

hello,
Scott, was the x question directed to me? IF so the answer is where ever you want it to be(they are custom boats so the drive height depends on you). I most of the time use surface drives right off the transom and on my personal R/C boat I put the X dimension 1/2 inch above the center of the "V". with a light glass lay up and 40cc motor I was able to run high 50s the chase boat couldn't keep up (friends 13 whaler) but the donzi walked it. I'll ask one of my friends up here at school to post a picture if you'd like.
stay well,
Christian
