Old Volvo drives

While on his subject about old Volvo drives, which ones are interchangable? For example, will a 280 swap with a 270T or visa versa, and don't leave out the 290. Do the transom shields have the same dimensions and bolt holes? I like the dependability of the Volvo drives but miss trim and availability of good props. Any info in this area would be very useful, so any Volvo drive experts, please step up and share your wisdom.
