View Full Version : What can I use to fix engine hatch?

The screws that attach the engine hatch to the bracket have lost their grip. Is there something I can squirt in the holes which would harden (like liquid nails for wood)? The thing weighs a ton and rests on the rim of the engine bay, so the brackets really do not bear much of a load.

Biguns, the best way I have ever found to fix this problem id to fiberglass a plate either SST or aluminium (SST is better) and drilling and tapping same, other wise you may want to epoxy the existing holes but it will re occur.

If you are referring to the hinge we used small
locking nut and bolt stainless of course.Rubs slightly but tight always!
