I took the factory seat cover off my rear bench cushion and there was a thin plastic (ripped) cover over the foam . Is the plastic necessary to keep the moisture from soaking your bee-hind? The plastic seems to hold water in the foam and I was going to pitch it.

Any tips out there?

The plastic that covers the foam in your seat is put in to keep water out so the foam and seat last longer. Over time the plastic breaks down and may rip as yours has. Chances are Bilt-Rite did the original interior in your boat. Give me a call at 904-259-4807 to discuss your options

Bob,
Thanks for the reply. My seat is in near perfect shape and does not see any weather as it is stored inside. The only moisture would be from condensation. I will be storing it with the cushions flipped up from now on. I did remove them for winter storage and keep them in a dry place for fear of deteriorating the vinyl.

Good luck w/ Bilt Rite. I will keep your number on file if I ever have any problems.

Thank you
