Noticed this ad in the Boat Trader.

1966 BERTRAM MOPPIE, 20' RARE CLASSIC manufactured only from 1965 to 1969 is a limited addition. Its a take off of the Bertram 20 Off Shore Racer. An all hand laid fiberglass Deep V hull makes it a great deep-water boat. Needs work, hull in good condition. I've never seen one of these, and, as St.Cloud, FL, where it's located, is only about 10 miles south of me, I thought I'd take a look. Not because I'm interesting in buying (an 18' 3+2 is in my future), but because it sounds interesting. I'll report back on what I see if anyone is interested.

Since when is a boat that's been built in the thousands, "limited edition"? ....But seriously, they made many 20' Moppies from 66 to 70..... and Moppies weren't directly derived from an "offshore racer".

I am not sure the made thousands of 20's---the 31 model was their most popular and they made about 1800 over a 20 year production run.

You never know, a moppie could be a rarer baron where I think they made less than 100.

I used to have a 1966 20 Moppie, sold it bought a 1967 20 Bahia Mar, now I have a Pursuit. Those little Bert's are great boats. GEOO
