Things I learned at Lake George 2003
Friday:
Sleep schedule for the last week…I sleep 3-5 every day…twice a day…that’s it… L
Idea of being prepared: Dump toolbox in bed, grab bags of clean laundry, pray to god they aren’t just underwear, throw everything in cab. Sprint to car…foot to the floor. Not the way I like to do it.
Leave NY at 3…made it there by 9
Finally an of age night with the Crew

Pearson in rare form…well is it rare?
Pearson having at it…when you get him going NO ONE is more fun
Screaming Chicken
No we are not going to go get it at 4 am…you won’t be able to stand at 4 am

Ok guys my boat will NOT float away tomorrow
If someone asks “ where is your buddy one more time I am going to go postal”
I have to leave at 9 am Sunday
Saturday:
Chris: “Pearson how you feeling”
Pearson: “Little foggy, how many people I piss off?” ( sort of falls over)
Chris launches boat successfully
Boat starts…ohhhhh
Boat shifts, pumps water, and runs…..ahhhhhh
Boat seems to like Turbo prop
Trim…..up….I said up….trim unerectus…. L
Attempt to do poker run anyway…1/4 mile…ok this is going to suck…trailer we go… fight back some mild tears
Back on trailer…rams leaking at fitting…knew there was an issue there…thought it would get me through the weekend…nope
Slap a smile on and say screw it time to have fun. It can’t get any worse
Graciously accept ride in good friend Paul O’s 22…make it to first stop…
Spend 2 hours in bilge, hot greasy, bobbing around changing a fuel pump…Reason #1 to gain weight…so I don’t fit in there. Every event someone needs me in there…
Rehabilitate boat. Runs great. Labeled with black spot. All boats I have ridden in have now broken.
“George has oil in the bilge…coming out of the dipstick” I swear guys I didn’t touch it.
George and I share misery
Interesting fastest 18 and 22 both on the trailer…says something huh
It is going to take a pressure washer to clean my hands
Brads 18 rides nice…looks nicer sounds AWESOME
After you go hydraulic steering…you can’t go back

Sunday:
Ok who the hell squished me this morning
Ditched for breakfast…not happy
I can stay a little longer…it is just school
Pack up …slightly better then before
Steal Pearson’s boat for ride…think he noticed?
Feel a lot better
Fall in Mud…no one notices...thank god
Ride with Mom and Dad all day (Dr. Dan + Liz…long story…just don’t tell a 28 year old that 21 year old is her son)
Commandeer Dan’s boat…with Dan’s wife. Wow I am doing well.
I can stay till 12…ok maybe 3
Wow that kid can push that little 16
I am now supplanted not once but twice as youngest Donzi owner
Dude it wasn’t even a Donzi
“So I am…you know…contemplating”
Dr. Dan had us in fits of laughter at lunch…my sides still hurt
Finally white boy ( me) got some color
So- Slo with his new 22 ( Barry Philips)
Little mean green 16 can move out…I think we have a new board member
Dwight has discovered the drive trims down…in addition to the previous only up mode. Still drives like he is late for life…I love it
George and I commiserate in sadness again
So what I have a huge project due tomorrow this is way too much fun
Paul O where did you go man?
Can you believe the hull # one before my boat was there!! Kid got a steal on that boat
Screaming Chicken coming up ( no not a Blackhawk…hmmm)
So can we see the pictures again…

One bungi now hostage…maybe I will use it to hold up Tuxedo’s Rudder??? wink
Despite all the breakings, long drive and disappointment once again nothing tops a Donzi event for a good time…period.
I miss everyone already…1000 ISLANDS!!!!
