I am preparing to install my steering brackets on the transom for my external steering. What is the best way to seal the bolt holes in the transom. Do I epoxy them in permanently or do I use a sealant that doesn't completely dry so they can be removed. Thanks for the help.

Greg,I found some rubber sealing washers that I used between the transom and the bracket,so far so good,no leaks.

Roll rubber roofing material works great and can be cut to any shape, I would still put a dab of sealer right at the bolts.

Greg,
I used Boat Life sealer on mine. Coated the holes as well as the plates on both sides as Poodle says.

I beg to differ Mr.Poodle,my brackets were counterbored on the back side for the washer, and are right, sitting butt down tight wink :D
