I have a 1989 Donzi Regazza, and I'm think of replacing the stock OMC Cobra drive with a Merc Bravo 3. Can this be done as I've described it? If not can any other Merc out drive be used in place of the Bravo 3?
Thanks

If it ain't broke why fix it, I would wait till you need to do a very expensive swap. There are pros and cons on both side of the fence OMC MERC. Performance wise I doubt if you will gain anything, the Cobras are just as hydrodynamic as the Merc. The only real gain would be prop selection and parts availability which is very good with the Mercs.

cept the bravo 3 is a duo-prop setup... so there goes the prop theory...

why exactly do you want to change drives? an even swap would be the OMC to a bravo I...

and to go from grey to black takes more than just a drive... you also need the COMPLETE transom assy and trim pump and rams, steering, engine bellhousing and coupler, exhaust wishbone and manifolds(unless you run thru-hull)...

and i am sure i am forgetting something...
