A couple of Donzi "experts" were spotted working in a dungeon trying NOT to electrocute each other.

Looks very nice Cliff,

Sure seems as though your on track for the Hometown Rally! Get CDMA to stop messing around with his boat and get moving on yours!

Anyway, I hope to see you this year in Sarasota!

Broque, The whole boat is solid blue with white deck and waterline stripes....

Bryant, Hometown Rally? It would be nice to bring her down, but that water is a little big for a 16......

Thanks for the compliments guys.

BERTRAM BOY :D :D :D

Wow, it looks like a 16 deck makes for a great workbench. I may have to try that trick soon myself.

Wiring looks good and the underside of the deck cleaned up really nice. Is that wiring job ABYC color coded? :D

Forrest

Still running the original 25 gallon steel bomb in my '72 16. eek!

did you "experts" recore that deck too? i sure would like to see ALL of the progress and problems and updates and just plain antics... I KNOW you have a big album somewhere! it is nice to see that this boat at least gets a good loving home after being plucked from it's nest here in the great lakes... wink

Well Forrest,
they would have used the black and decker WORKMATE as a work bench but it is holding the deck up!!! wink :D and 25 gallon steel bomb are you referring to your gas tank??? oh boy not the gas tank thingy again!!!! wink

And another thing what is Glastonbury a dry town???
not a beer can to be found anywhere???? :o

Really Cliff
nice job!!!! :)

Rootsy - Yes, we re-cored the deck as well. Boy, it was a heck of a job. Cliff decored the deck and cleaned it all out. He then put a putty (for lack of another word) to even out the holes. We then put the balsa (which had resin on it). After the balsa came the fiberglass and alot more resin.

The whole deck was done from front to back. We also did the hatch.

Poodle - Blue Seas Systems makes it. It can be ordered from West Marine.

Matty - yep the old original galvanized-steel gas tank. Time for it to go in favor of a new custom RDS aluminum fuel tank (http://www.rdsaluminum.com/). These guys know their stuff when it comes to marine fuel tanks of all types, and yes, they build the fuel tanks for Donzi Marine. After a factory tour, I had them build me a pair of custom 59 gal tanks for my Magnum. Perfect fit!

BB - Nice core job. Looks factory. I need to fix and re-core my X-18 hatch. The poor thing came un-latched while running wide open in the Gulf on a not so nice day. Needless to say, the lifting eye was not too kind to it. frown
