View Full Version : 1990 Donzi Minx - Book Value

I looked at a 1990 Donzi Minx which was around 19' long with a 350 motor, and was in fair condition, and wondered what the book value is. I checked the NADA web site but did not see it listed. It also had an electronic hood over the motor which must have been an option. Your usual input is greatly appreciated.

Donzi produced the MINX in 1986-87... I know of no other years that they were available. LOA is 20'6" on the MINX... most were suppleid with the SBC 350.. 300hp being the most prevelant, all with the Alpha-1 drive. Some others were custom ordered with the 320EFI system (trick for it's day) and some I'm sure had BB's and some with the Bravo package.

Thanks for the information. I like the engine compartment in the Minx. You could just about climb in there will all the room.

The size of the engine compartment on the Minx is a big plus. I looked at a 16' Classic and that engine compartment looked a little cramped. I wonder if it would be easy to pull the motor in a 16' Classic?

you need a trained 5 yo boy to work on your engine in a 16. it's difficult, but possible to get most everything done.

So, Dredge, when yours arrives are you going to train it to work on Donzi's? (Has it arrived and I missed it?) Probably make a dollar or two hiring it out to 16-owning-pseudo-uncles on this site! :D

I can't tell you a "book value", but my insurance company would only value my 1987 Limited Edition Minx at $11,000.00. I have seen them for sale from 8K to 15K recently. Good boat.

Interesting...this guy was asking $11,000 for Minx in Charlotte Nc and may take less since he is pressed to sell. It just needs a good gel coat and some TLC. I have his number in case someone is intested. I drove a brand new 2001 Donzi 16 classic and bought it after driving it about 100 feet. It was really awsome.
