I finished polishing out the Donzi paint and it is great. I have spent two days reassmbleing and the only real big thing I have left is the wiring. I was going to make my own harness but it would be easier to just buy something premade. Geoo sent me an old harness but I will be damned if I can figure out what goes where. Any ideas?

Chris,
The operators manual for Volvo's 290 outdrive has a wiring diagram for the harness. A few years back I called Volvo and they mailed me the manual. I gave it away when I sold the drive. I wonder if an after market repair manual has a wiring diagram. The new Merc. harness I purchased for my X-18 came with a wiring diagram. GEOO

Geoo,

I think that is what I need, just a diagram. If I had the diagram I could just start fresh but I need a scematic (sp) to follow.

Did you keep the Volvo drive?
West Marine (http://www.westmarine.com) has a manual for 1968 to 1993 Volvo sterndrives part # 195554
Should have a wiring diagram.
Do you have an outlet for wire?
I use S&J Products (Chicago, 773-549-7983) for wire, heat shrink tubing, and fasteners.
$100 minimun

I will check that out Rick. I use East End marine supply. It is part of the Lewis wholesale group and I get really good prices, no minumun, delivered the next day.

Thanks

Thanks Scott,

I have the diagram for the 280. And actually I just found a complete diagram for all the gauges and engine so I am in business.
