hub question please

while having seavice done my marina sent out my prop because of some dings i dont know if the hub was recond. . but today after stoping the boat could get headway speed only seems to bee sliping . could it be trouble in the volvo 270? would it not just stop all together ??any response welcome thanks

Those Volvo prop hubs are notorious for slipping. When the boat is on the trailer, put the drive unit in gear, and while weariung a tough pair of shoes, try to turn the prop by carefully standing on one of the blades. If the hub is good, the prop won't turn without turning the engine.
