Here are some photos of Jon and the great work he did on my interior for my 18 classic. They are planning to retire soon, and their building and business is for sale. He has all of the original donzi patterns, and did many of the boats originally. I am impressed with his craftsmanship, and I am a perfectionist. So, if you have been thinking about having your seats redone, you might want to call them soon. They have no web site, nore do they advertise, only word of mouth. (especially this site) The first picture is Jon installing the snaps on the cock pit cover. click on the blue links bilt rite (http://www.donzi.net/photos/jspiroff16.jpg) bilt rite (http://www.donzi.net/photos/jspiroff17.jpg) bilt rite (http://www.donzi.net/photos/jspiroff18.jpg) bilt rite (http://www.donzi.net/photos/jspiroff20.jpg)

looks great clayman,

hey guys this is just an idea and I'm on a double with no sleep but listen to this

if built rite retires and the business is not sold
perhaps we the members of the board chip in and buy the patterns give them to harbormaster, now when someone in the furure wants to redo the interior of their classic they purchase a copy from donzi.net for a fee and go to any interior designer with the pattern so they can reproduce it. this will insure that the patterns are not lost, and can be an additional source of funding for harbormaster.
good idea or should I try and get some sleep

Matt, that is a GREAT idea. As long as the Biltrite folks are ok with it.

I have a better idea maybe, I've always wanted a reason to move South. I leave my boring 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. + job and go down as an apprentise until John is ready to quit. I then buy his buisness and continue to make Donzi restorers exstatic about their new interiors. Then, I find a way to go after Donzi's current interior buisness and get them to outsource like just about every other company in USA. Maybe even work a new blue and white Special Edition in return for so many free boat interiors.

SLAP, SLAP, OK back to reality.... It's been a long day at work! :D

BTW - Clayman, Beautiful interior and I may call Bilt-Rite about a new Tonue cover for my 18. I really like yours with the zipper.

Well, Sue said they think they have a buyer for the patterns. the cover is pretty cool. I had him put a 1/4 " silver stripe between the black and the white to match the future paint sheme(sp?). The zipper thru me at first. I wasn't sure if I like it, but I think I could run the boat with just the driver area open. ???

I had a custom U shaped zipper installed on my new cover and I love it. It keeps all my stuff from blowwing out including the beverage cans. It's easy in and out at the dock or in the rain.My friend was jellious but his canvas lady gave him a zipper like yours. I must say it works well also,my set up blocks some of the guages from sight. My nexy cover will have two U shaped zippers one for me one for the passenger. How many times have you not come back to the dock with everything you left with?

I ordered my new interior yesterday. My seats are O.K., but I want to go ahead and secure new ones before it's too late.

Thanks for the heads-up guys!! :)
