I bought a can of phantom black marine engine paint for 12 bucks. Would anyone know if there is any difference between this paint and black automobile engine engine paint?

It,s well worth the twelve bucks you can't get the same results from engine paint vs. mercruiser black .By far the mercruiser paint shines and outlast the auto engine paint .

If your motor is out and you don't mind alittle work you should try POR15.By far the best paint for engines ever.Block has to be stripped bare the cleaned with there degreaser the then prepped with there zincphosfate treatment that prevents farther rusting and etches the iron then washed and dried then primed with there high zinc content primer and quickly painted with there high heat enamel,al brush on self leveling hard asa rock when dry.All come in a kit with brushes masks, thinners and spray bottles.Enough to do two motors.Ipaid $70cnd .I just had my block tanked and bored+cleaned and not a trace of paint came off
