I think I am going to pull the Y pipe off of my 18. Whats it worth? Anyone want/need it?

I've had a Y pipe collecting dust for over 20 years that I can't give away.

You could always use it to route Honey to the second Pool!

Scot,
I bought one, a new take off, from the west coast a year ago for 125. Leave it on. If the
noise police get you after you bypass it you
won't have to pull the engine to put it back on.

Later,
Mark

Its a proven fact that with thru transom exaust and a Y pipe that the boat is faster. The Y pipe acts like a third exaust and with the water rushing by the lower unit, it actually sucks the exaust out faster thru the prop hub. We have seen 2.5 MPH faster on GPS when I was testing for Donzi

Question for you much more knowledgeable guys, way back I had a 102 inch Harley built. One thing the guy said was important was a balance tube, he insisted that T'd in it was not as effective as his U style which came into the pipes more like a header connection. He told me the idea was to pulse the charges against each other for scavenging. Ok now my dumb question is it possible that the Y actually does the same thing if left in place when you got out the back with the exhaust? Every once in a while I get a blast from the past!
