........I bought a 1989 Z-33 in November with 454 Mercs and something new for me, electric fuel pumps, put on by the previous owner. The starboard engine kept running very rough at idle. I went through many things, like new plugs, checking every engine wire, Holly 600 rebuilds, (thanks to Madpoodle and others advice on an earlier post), great advice, they work perfect and cost only $125 to rebuild each, :but, the problem still existed. Still chasing the problem, someone mentioned a little HOBBS sender/cut off switch, above the oil pressure sender in the back of the engine. BINGO, new sender, problem solved. The switch was giving a false reading at low oil pressure, intermitently. It was so obscure that I missed it. Let this post help others save some time chasing engine-witches.

Thanks to all who helped me chase this one down.
