IMHO, By the time you screw around fabbing up drive showers (time and materials), you could have bought several Simreks. They're cheap and effective. Check them out.

Interesting that OMC Cobras put the water pump up on the upper gear case, guess we don't need showers. After a pretty hard run on a wet Dyno the case is not hot. Merc's under the same conditions are real hot. So all of the Cobra boys don't worry, just use good oil Pref synthetic.

Yes I should have included the Volvos which I was the only certified tech on Eastern Long Isalnd for quite a few years. Volvos run the water throuhg both the lower and intermediat housings to the goose neck. They circulate the oil constantly circulated by the vaned pump ring on the prop shaft keeping the oil temp pretty consistant top to bottom. I guess Merc needs to come up with a better Idea!

I'm not sure if it can be modified or what the differences are on how these mount (maybe they run a different route to bypass the steering rams) but here are a couple that are even cheaper than what your discount price is. Checkout the other pages too and you may see some decent prices on other products too.

You guys should check to see if this Ebay seller will sell a few of his showers at a good price as a package deal. If not, then you can battle for this one:

That looks like a questionable home made shower. I wouldn't trust the quality of that. The Simreks actually bolt to the top of the drive and have better looking pick-up ports that go through the cavitation plate. Two holes...so what. Clamp-on = fly off. Randy

It is cheesy looking isn't it  I figured that I would just toss it out here anyway.

Poodle, What's the final price on the Bravo shower?

I have the Alpha one (Summit) on on my Bravo and would like to change to the Halo design. Anyone need a Summit model?

What is a Bravo "Deluxe"? I need a Halo "custom" for my Blackhawk drive.

Not to spoil the party here, Scott, but...

Please count'em and rack'em up again, because one of those Bravo Halo Deluxe showers should be headed to Texas...

Thanks, Todd

Hoping my shower is coming this way, because it's gettin' hot here...

Blackhawk,
The Halo custom does not fit a Blackhawk drive. Have one in the garage and it's way too tall, plus bracket in wrong place to line up with top cover bolts. Talked to them and will be sending it back. They suggested the shower from Innovativemarine.net, which I got and it works great.

wbateman, I talked to Simrek and they did say the halo custom did not work because of where it fastens. But they did say that the summit custom will work.

Scott -

Got home from Lk George and the Shower was here. I guess it arrived Friday after we left.

From the post it looks like I owe you $110.46 for the shower but I don't know what to add for shipping. Let me know. I don't want to short you. I'll probably use Paypal as we discussed.

Thanks again for arranging this.
Alex

The drive shower has arrived.

Now, if you would kindly stop by one evening this week, I would gladly trade you a pitcher of my famous Margaritas for an installation. :D :D

Thanx,
