Outdrive Cleaning

Has anyone ever came across small white pit's over the entire outdrive . The boat is used in salt water , washed every time it's used and store on the trailer. My old drive was the same way the pit's get bigger. Tried wax, penetrating oil and the white marks still come back. Thanks Jeff

Is this boat kept in the water? I have been reading up on corosion protection on boats. Seems there was something about this ... like it happend from some sort of over protection.

Are these actual pits or just a white hazing? A hazing can be caused by a very hot drive. If you've
been running on plane for a while, the drive heats up, then when you come off plane, the cold water steams off your drive, and leaves behind mineral deposits. A drive shower can help if this is the case.

The boat is always kept on the trailer, it looks just like white over spray , all little dots. I called mercruiser and they tolded me it was calcium build up .Jeff
