I am looking into buying a 1989 30 Black Widow. Power comes via twin 460 ci cobra motors, OMC drives, with inly 315 original hours, freshwater boat that is immaculate. Asking price is $39000 with trailer. ANy insight in these boats, i mean anything will be helpful. How fats are they, ride any 411 you guys can give me would help a lot.

G-Force I have the exact boat that you are looking at 89 Widow 460's king cobras. The boat is awsome I love mine. Top speed is about 66 mph with mine but the ride is great the boat is heavy.

I have the 1989 Z-33. Great boat. As with all of the boats from this era, I would advise that you check the stringers out thoroughly. Many during this era have gone bad. I have the Merc pacage; but, I don't know anything wrong with the OMC Cobra's, except that parts might become an issue in the future.

Good luck with the new purchase.

Gforce, I've got the same setup too and fresh off running AOTH III.

The yrs run by but I think I've had it 4-5 yrs.

Good riding boat in rough water and plenty room around the inside.

Good luck and just contact me or post them here if you have any specific Q's.

Mine holds 140 gal gas and weighs 6900lbs dry.

I can't compare with Z33 since I have'nt rode in one.

I saw were Brian Tuvell had his 26 for sale if you're looking for that size.

If it is the one on ebay, it looks nice... I agree with the earlier post to check the stringers. As far as the 460 King Cobra package, I have 380 hours of GREAT service out of mine. The only complaint, the shifters have to be adjusted perfectly or they can be a bit of a pain to shift. Parts are easy to find still. I would have a survey done on the boat to be safe...Enjoy

Yeah thats the one, but I think im gonna make an even bigger step and more money of course. Im gonna look at a 33ZX that has twin 500 EFI only 200 hrs and for sale localy for 85,000, the seller is desperate. What do you guys think of that? 33zx or 28zx ive got appointments to see both. Please let me know what you think.thanks a million

 Both are considered 2 of the best ZX Hulls...if the 33Z is Clean...and it seems priced very agressively...then go for the 33ZX...you will never regret the larger hull and those 500's are Stout. A friend of mine upgraded from a 28,wanted the added Comfort Features,Frig. and Etc., Consider a couple of points...the 28 is towable...the 33 is a bit more effort to haul...so if your going to rack it at a Marina...then no worries...but Trailering will require a serious rig. The 28 is still manageable with most heavier Trucks or Burbans...let us know what you decide...sounds like a nice dilemma? wink ...Doc

I think with the debate of price and towability , Im gonna consetrate in getting a 28ZX, plus I want to hang it on my Davits at my home in the keys. The 33zx weighs like 9000 lbs while my davits are only rated to 8000lbs. So there is a problem already. Plus i found a 28 zx with twin 300hp, 350 MPI's for 56,000. Its a 2000 with 150 hrs on the clock. Speed should be in the mid seventies right? What r things to look for when buying one of these bigger boats. Motors and drives is the main importance right? The boat has twin steering with tie bar, stainless marine exhaust and lab finished props and a stereo. Please shed some light on this idea as well, Im stck witha dilema. Either I buy r I dont is fine with me. Should i wait is Donzi thinking of anything new for 2004. Please let me know guys.
Thanks
Jon
