I like the semi-contemporary look of the minx. is there any reason i should not look at getting one? it would be easier to get a 22 classic, but i was just looking for something a bit different.

thanks

i can't think of any reason. They are beautiful boats, certainly a bit "different" and hold their value well.

Look for a big block...

A friend of mine just bought one for $4000.00 eek! I know it makes me sick also :D and I have to say that its well built, good looking and tricked out real nice with the gauges and other neat little items.

That's the model I held out for. I like the size is big enough to handle a little rougher water and higher freeboard. It's not so big to be a pain to trailer and launch. I'm still getting the engine together, so I can't give an evaluation of the ride.

....and there's nothing wrong with the ride! I get approx 60mpi on a little chop. Handles other's 4 - 6' wakes like a champ. Mine's an original '87 model w/350 Mag / Alpha 1.

i have been tossing the idea back and forth from 18, to 22, to 18, to 22. then found a couple of minx on boattrader.com .. i'd really like to get a good look at one in person. anyone know of one in the metro det. area? just wondering what the seating area is, how much space ect.

You'll find that the interior & storage spaces in the Minx are about the same as the 22 Classic. The 22 is a bit beamier, but the Minx makes up for it with a deeper Vee bottom, and
"racier" lines. The higher gunwale makes the Minx seem to be a much larger boat. The Minx looks like a 75% version of the 38' Cigarrette. One can drop in a BBC/Bravo, but I was quite plesed with the 320EFI/Alpha setup... able to keep up with all but highly modified 22's... in a 2' to 4' choppy sea.
