I see the hose that goes into it, but I don't know that much about marine headers. In the description it says dry headers.

I know over on OSO, he was asking $1000 for the pair.

Guys, be VERY careful of these. The average life expectency of these are only about two years!! They develop tiny cracks and let water into the engine.

They appear to be wet headers with dry tail pipes. Dry tail pipes are water jacketed but water is usally dumped through a thrugh the hull fitting not into the exhaust stream.

If they're small block headers then you'll have to run adapter plates to put these on most GM SB heads. The bolt pattern is offset/canted for big runner (aluminum) cylinder heads. These do not have the standard GM bolt pattern.

Rick, they are for sbc. Are you saying they won't fit an sbc? Please explain it.

Ted, I was under the impression that CMI's were the cat's azz. Is that just for this particular model?

Rootsy, if we find they will work for our application, I'd split the pair with you.

You'll need something like this.

This site should explain it.

Factory SBC exhaust bolts are placed at 3 & 9 O'clock. To put big tube headers on a SBC the flange bolts need to be relocated. I don't know why it wouldn't work. You might want to make up stainless steel adapter plates though instead of aluminum.

I sent a message to the guy on oso about them. Apparently he has them on there for a friend. I told him they said dry exhaust and asked about the water lines. Here is his answer.

Yep sure does look like you need adapters for t he exhaust.. no issue.. BUT the question is... how high are they vs the stock merc center risers...

does me no good if they won't fit under my hatch :(

Cuda, no not just that model......most any stainless tube water jacketed header as in all makes/models. I know where there are 2 sets of Keith Eikert polished aluminum BBC Headers for 2800.00 for BOTH SETS!!

Guys..these are wet headers with dry exhaust, dry exhaust means that the water from the headers doesnt exit out the boat via the exhaust which in turn lets you use a "bigger" cam but also is "a lot" louder,I bet you could buy a "wet" exhaust to fit the headers from CMI if you get the headers for the right price,,,James I would give CMI a call and ask for the specs. To bad they arent for a BBC :D
