Compared to the major dilemmas you guys routinely tackle, here's an easy one: What would be the best way to repair loose snaps in the cockpit area. Would I fill and re-drill, or maybe a caulk of some type...screw and all? Thanks!

Fill and re-drill, and re-install.
It's a snap!

When you redrill make sure you use the correct size and kind of bit, bevel the gelcoat, and use a good caulk(I like Boat Life Polysulfide)
BTW. A good way to bevel gelcoat is to use a philips head bit in your drill.

Before drilling and caulking.

Try taking a flat style tooth-pick and as you screw the tip of the snap in, stick the thicker part of the pick in at the same time as you screw. You will notice that 90% of the time the snap will bite and hold for a season or years!

Good luck, Dave
