Call yer Chevy dealer instead of the speed shop! This is the PN for the H.O. Bowtie smallblock. An engineered motor that comes in a plain brown wrapper- and can be installed in a pre-emissions car(read-Donzi)!Out of the crate w/345hp, it includes 4 bolt block, forged steel truck crank, forged (pink) rods,9.8 marine pistons, alum. D-port heads(saves 100lbs),chrome silicon valve springs, dual plane alum hirise manif.,5 qt Z28 pan, damper, flexplate,HEI ign(no wires),dipstick, long style water pump, and spark plugs.Does not incl.-pulleys,carb,starter,oil filter, fuel pump,or exhaust manifolds.
The test mule survived a 200 hr WOT run w/o any damage! No guesswork motor-comes off an assy. line! Made to run @5800 w/minimum wear and won't scatter.Steady 6000 may increase valvetrain wear.....
I've got one- and the thing fires immediately and runs like a watch.Tho I'm not a huge GM fan, this motor is hard to beat at about $3200.00-$3500.00 depending on how well u know your Chevy dealer.Anyone contemplating a small block motor replacement should give this puppy a shot!
