Have any of you ever put a swim platform on the backend of a Donzi. I was considering the idea for my 22 but was wondering if it can be done and who has one that looks good. Any ideas?

Peter,

I have often wondered about a platform for my 16 & 22, just no time to do the research.

Well in the back of HOT BOAT magazine there is an add for EXTREME MARINE and they make "tubular aluminum swim platforms".

Here is the good news they are in Ohio.

To order or for more information contact:
EXTREME MARINE
1050 Eastland Ave.
Akron, OH. 44305
(330) 733-6387 Phone & fax

Looks like they do custom work and installation and I have seen the platforms on other boats, they look HOT.

Good luck, Dave

And you can get them Painted to match your boat to?

I looked at a 22' with a mahogany platform. It looked very good. A little "homemade" looking, not quite as well turned out as the teak ones I've seen on Nautiques, but it was acceptable.

Problem was that this was a small block boat and the pipes aren't as high on the transom. Fitting that kind of platform on my boat would interfere w/ the exhaust pipes...

With mine having a 502 I am concerned of pipe location and outdrive.

This boat shows how the pipes on a small block boat wouldn't interfere w/ a platform. Maybe you need to trade your big block boat for one with a small block...

The pipes look like the same location as mine. Not allot of room to play with but it does look like it can be done. I will look at my Hot boat Mag. for that ad. Thanks Guys.
By the way what is this donzi look a-like?http://www.boattraderonline.com/cgi-bin/boat/apps/search/photdisp.html?photo=00095246701&phoneId=3527500710&ad=125-97189-10&status=no&imgsite=&page=search&pstat=P

I spoke with the guy from Extreme Marine on the platform he makes. He told me that all of them are custom made and gave me his address to his web site. http://www.extrememarine.cc/Homex.html They look very nice but are expensive $1499.00.
Check it out!
