Don't know about 1988 but they manufactured the 30th anniversary model in the classic model in 1995. That would make the 88 the
23th anniversary model. The 30th anniversary models had a creme white and deep red color scheme with a white 30th anniversary wreath on the side rear hull. This was the same year they introduced the Blackhawk Edition. Standard colors in the classics were also available that year.

Maybe its a 90. That would make it 25 yrs. Did they make a special edition in 90

Not aware of one. But Robin Harmon (with DONZI at the time) tells me that they did put out a few 22's in '88 that were called Testarossa (sp?). These were white and cook red with special treatments including roses sewed into the seat covers.

The individual that has this boat says it was made in 88 and sold in 90. He says its the anniversity edition. The boat is silver. This boat is definately an 18 not a 22. It also sits on a silver tandem trailer. It has a windshield. Any additional information would be appreciated

I know of two 1987 limited editions. These boats are both classics, one is a 18' the other is a 22'. Both have black sides and strip. They are one of 25 boats, but I dont know what there actual numbers are

In 88 there were two "special editions" that I know of. All red boats, usually with grey upholstery called Testarossas, they made 18's, 22's and Minxs. Then another limitted edition that I believe was an anniversary edition of some sort. The boat I saw was a black and white Minx. Every "special edition" that I've seen of that vintage had a dash plaque that declared it so.

Hey guys, good information here. Good to know I`m not the only one curious about the 1980`s models. Spitfire Dave is right about the 1987 limited editions. My Minx is one of those black one of 25 models. Also, at the Orlando gathering,(what a blast) I talked to Mike Colins on this subject; he said that year they took all the boats made during a certain time, and made them all limited editions. These could have been anything from a 16 to a 22. I do`nt know if it increases the value of the boat, but it`s a nice adition to have.

I don't know how this fits in, but I ran accross a news brief in a 1987 issue of Boating where Donzi announced that they were only building 500 of the Z boats for the 88 model year. They didn't specify numbers for each size, but only that they would accept all orders until they reached 500. I don't know what the normal production run would have been, but it's kind of interesting.....
