Clayman, if you have any kind of graphics program, like corel, or paint shop pro, etc on your computer you can resize the photo. email me or post what kind of program you have, and I'll tell you how

Hmm? Looks like some type of wooden support of a leaky oil line or something? You got me.

Well, I give some hints, it came out of the engine compartment. again, I hope this thing is not original.

Madpoodle, you continue to amaze me. YOU win the prize. As I was taking this thing out, sure it was one of the abortions someone had done to the boat, I realized it could have been a factory piece. strange. I guess the new classics have an aluminum angle as a replacement . anyone have a picture of a current model so I can fabricate something?

Clayman, Here's a pic of my 97's latch setup from underneath.

thanks for the post of the picture of your latch. That should help . It looks so simple. is that foam on the firewall?

Yes, it is foam. It's like that eggshell stuff. I assume it's for sound deadening and I also assume it is factory installed.

Interesting, I just noticed you are from Redford. I grew up in Milford, Michigan. My family has a couple cottages on the St. CLair River, on Stag Island. I am planning to take the Donzi up there this summer for a couple weeks. Maybe we can get together and run up or down the river together, are there any Donzi meets in the area in July?

Clayman, I lived in Milford for a couple of years. Actually, it was on Lake Sherwood in Commerce Twp. but that's close enough. I head out to Lake St. Clair quite often in the summer. I usually drop in at the Clinton River and shoot over to Gull, Strawberry, Metro Beach, and up in the channels. I've met several fellow Donziacs out there and we've had a couple of gatherings at Deckers Landing on the North Channel. I will for sure be out there this year and we can hook up when you're in town. There's usually a couple of Board Members out there on any given weekend Watch the MI Gathering link to see when an actual date is set.
