Check this out on the OSO site. Scan down to the post left by John Crouse on 2/11/2002.

I noticed that post a day back. Because I am a younger person that is interested in the past history of offshore racing I need to take into consideration that some of what is said has the possibility of being untrue. But that OSO board can get heated. It is at times unique to say the least watching people post their "information" I think people who truelly believe in the Aronow legacy show respect by not hurting the reputation of he and his family, by remembering the good.

I too read the book Blue Thunder and was amazed, to say the least about the racing stories. It said a lot about the determination of Don when it came to his "Win at all costs mentality" (That is what I got from the book).
I was going to post on OSO, but I decided against it. There is no sense arguing about who was more innovative when it came to racing development.

We know who was King of Thunderboat row!
We know who built Thunderboat Row!
