I Will be testing out my new power combo this sunday, I added a Arizona Speed & Marine recalibraded ECU, with the rev limter rasied to 5,800rpm. I installed a MSD soft touch rev control set to 5,400rpm and also a Arizona Speed & Marine billet flame arrestor. I went with a 24p Bravo 1 prop, with the added 400rpm I should be right in the new power band of the motor with the other mods I made over the winter. I hope she runs 75-77mph on GPS, wish me luck. I will let everyone know how it goes. Still have not added external hydraulic steering yet, I need it.

Sounds great Bill... if nothing else you have the 22ZX with the most expensive motor!

Give me a call. We are going to play close in the bay, damn weather blows.

Bill,

On this old post you said that you added Latham external steering to the 22ZX. You have me all confused.

I've had the Blackhawk over 80 without external steering, but it really makes me nervous. I have a 7 inch stroke Marine Machine system that I am installing, I just need to get a custom wingplate made. It will fit like Bad Tat's steering when it is done.

I think Lil Griz owns that title at the moment at 80+ mph. Good Luck.

22ZX, first, good luck with your testing this weekend. I look forward to reading about your results. I agree that the speed should be harnessed with full hydraulic steering and of course always the use of your kill switch. The steering is expensive, but could in fact be a life saver if anything were to go wrong at 70+.

I'm looking forward to seeing the "Bad Tat" system at AOTH III as I would like to add a full system to my 22. I also have the K-Planes limiting space to work with for mounting the cylinders.

So far the fastes 22Zx was when ran my 22 with a 7psi pulley. We ra her once any the boat was completely out of control at 89mph couldn;t get to 90. Put the pulley back to 5psi and ran 82 was my fastest.
