First of all here are the Aluminum boxed stringers....

Now I would like to retain these but I need somewhere to mount 2 batteries and 3 trim pumps as far aft as possible. I would build accessory shevles in the back like my 18 but the boxed aluminum section carries all the way to the transom and is nicely bolted to it as a brace. I was looking at the side dimond plate "walkways" on the sides of the engine in the 22 special eddition. How do these mount and could I do it without fiberglassing to the stringer?

If not any other ideas would be helpful..

How about welding a lip on the braces to screw the diamond plate onto?

I was actually thinking of just using to top of the stringer as a mount and then glass in 3/4" ply along the outer edge to screw into. I would have to notch the diamond plate around the mounts and a few other places but I think it might be good. Where is the trim pump mounted in a stock 22?

In the aft port corner right under the drain so you get water in the trim pump resevoir.
I moved the port battery there and the trim pump forward about 18". :D

BTW If you resize your pics they will load quicker.

Chris,
do you need any Red fiberglass diamond plate? I have enough to do your engine compartment.

WOW!!! :D :D :D

I would love enough just to do the "walkways" along the side of the engine. E mail me and let me know how much you want for some and how we could ship it.

Resize it before you send it.
You can do that with your scanner software and check it with "Actual View"

. . . or using almost any picture edit software, select "resample" to about 50%. Then save it as a jpg.
