The portholes look like they are from a late 80's early 90's era BlackWidow, the rest of it I have no clue.

I just saw that thing in a local magazine for sale and I was wondering the same thing.

I have a Winter 1991 issue of Motor Boat magazine that details the 24' Black Widow (introduced in 1990). Article said it was to be called simply Z-24. Hull was based on the Z-25, discontinued at that point in time... I'm not saying that thats what the yellow Donzi in the trader is, but it looks pretty similar, and is a 24 footer with a similar look. The boat in my article has a fiberglass windscreen, but says it was available w/ a windshield. That alone throws the look off a bit. Also, the boat in the Motor Boat article only has 2 portal windows, as opposed to 3 in the one in the trader. Might be the same???

If that's a 24' black widow they added the third port window to look like the 30' which has three. What else have they modified?

Is that a radar arch, or a wakeboard tower. I've always wondered how a Donzi would perform as a wakeboard boat. http://206.150.187.82/ubb/wink.gif

Thats a Donzi hull, The boat looks odd because the way it was painted. looks like its destorted from the picture shot. And I think he added some additional port holes.. Superboat was a knockoff of a Challenger. Low like a 22 classic, 21-24 almost look the same on a superboat.. John and Jen Cohen will never change the look of there Suprboat 24. Been that way since the 70s

The boat in madpoodle's link says '87 22' but its identical to the Z-21 or Z-25 in DONZI's 1988 catalog. Striping, right number of port holes, and all. As I said above, with regard to the yellow boat, the photos of the 24' Black Widow in a '91 Motor Boat magazine article I have look real close, with the exception of the wrong # of port holes. Admittedly, the hull looks a little different than the Z series boat that madpoodle posted, but again the article said the Black Widow was "based on" the earlier Z-25's hull; the top changes the look a good bit--wish I could post a couple pictures--anybody want to buy me a digital camera or a scanner???. Also the fiberglass windscreen on the article's boat rises above the deck significantly. I can't see a seam on the yellow boat due to the photo quality. The windshield and the angle of the photo make it look a lot higher than pictures I have of the Z-25 or the Black Widow, Also the yellow boat is pictured out of the water and from up front. I've noticed, to my eye at least, different photo angles do seem to distort the hull a bit. Sorry for rambling...

I don't know, looked at the picture of the yellow boat a little closer and I think Madpoodle is right about the chines being "too different"!!

It is definately not a 1988 Z-25.
Speaking of ugly boats, this one isn't bad, but the windshield and horn don't help. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=307907179

How about that Holman Moody sticker on the windshield, should they take that off because of the repower?

About the 18 on eBay: I spoke with the owner, and he built the motor, which is what he does for a living, though mostly for drag boats and racing cars. He says it's really sweet, and his reserve on the boat is $14,000, but he might dicker a little if the offer is close. He claims to be selling it only because he bought a 22' Something Else. If I had the scratch...Oh well!

Agreed; I was referring to the Red and White Donzi Madpoodle posted a pic of for comparison sake; not the yellow boat.
