The 27' Magnum has to be my all time favorite offshore hull. The lines and proportions are just perfect. The deck is starting to look a little dated, but even so, it's a classic.
The quintessential offshore sport/race boat.

My GOD that thing is gorgeous! I think that I would prefer to have a beautifully restored classic such as this Magnum anyday over a new Cigarette or similar boat. They cost four times as much and anyone with enough money can own one. Granted they are faster and are new but, come on, look at that boat!

isn't that the same babe that ebay'd the Scarab for 30k recently?? scenery looks familiar, as does the last pic in the series..

nothing beats a clean, well cared for classic. i'd hate to see what a new 27 would cost.

I think that beauty would draw a bigger crowd around it than a brand new Top Gun.

I noticed nothing about the volvo drives on it.
The sales person might think there not good so they didnt list it.

A little much. I know where there is a Magnum Maltese unrestored and repowered with twin 350 MPI's and Bravo drives on a new aluminum trailer for less then $25,000. This boat is super clean with all orig hardware and gelcoat.

I think they are 270's.

Wow! That is a nice Magnum 27 Sport! Looks like he still has all the original interior wood trim and everything. Those look like the original 270s with and Ultra props and Hydromotive nosecones. You can sure spot a garage kept freshwater boat from up north. I think that my Magnum 27 Sport has been in fresh water only once in its entire life, and that was last Labor Day weekend at Eufaula IV. Come to think of it, that may be as far north as its ever been as well. Someone buy that boat and bring it down to Florida and put some wear an tear on it!

A very nice boat!!! It was brokered by Dick Simon Marine in CA for quite some time. I'm glad someone had the heart to invest some big $$$ to preserve a piece of history.

Now that's a gorgeous machine! It'd be great for the days when the lake is too torn up for my 18 classic. Too bad I don't have the necessary funds to bring it home. I wonder why they didn't convert it to dual lever controls like some Gaffrigs and ditch that plexi covering the guages. All in the name of authenticity I guess.

Beautiful resto, but she needs Forrest's interior to completely make the proper statement.

Wonder why they took off/photoshopped the registration numbers? And wonder what the most common boat name of alltime must be?

Very cool ride!
Wonder where the owner got the SS props fr the Volvos?

Those props are Volvo-Penta branded Ultra props which [i]used[/u] to be readily available from any Volvo-Penta dealer. Hill Propellers (http://www.hillpropellers.com) will still build you a jam-up three-blade stainless 17-spline Volvo prop in any pitch or rotation for $550.

Celene, may be that the broker doesn't want a potential buyer contacting the owner in an attempt to cut a deal outside of the brokerage.

Jeff, my guess it that they didn't do anything to the dash. That's all original except for the gauges and trim buttons.

Mine needed a re-do.

Forrest,

Don't know about the dash, but you certainly have the superior deck ornamentation… :D

Wow, that is a thorough resto for sure. 5+ megs made the page take a while to load, but sure was a treat when it did. I laughed when i saw the name though. Where was the last time i saw a go fast boat named double trouble? Took a minute, but then i remembered that Joey Buttafuco's boat (looked like a scarab) was named double trouble!! wink Wonder if this guy realized that??? Beautiful boat tho....
