Seeing as how I'm replacing the transom on my Hornet, Can I gain much by raising the engine and drive ?? If so how far should I bring them up ? What are the pro's and con's of doing this ? Or should I just leave everything as is ???? Also are "bullets" on the Volvo 270's worth while installing ?? I allready have thru hull water pick up's the one in the drive is not used. Is that a better system than taking it from the drive ???

Be carefull with torque steer on a Volvo when raising it to high.
I tried the Bullet it made absolutly no difference in fact it made the torque steer worse!
Volvo's tend to catch seaweed around the drive causing heating problems also if the seals around the water tube in a Volvo leak the pump starts to suck air.
My advice from experence stick with the bottom pick up you get a greater volume of water through there. Then tee that to a fresh warer flush outlet on the transom.
