Has anyone heard of a problem with the stepped hulls spinning out in turns? Came up in conversation with some racer buds that says its a problem with some hulls.

Phil, Step Hulls are ventilated, Some hulls are ventilated a little more then others, The problem is in turns. You have to have more respect for a step hull then a coventional hull. When you come in to a turn never trim in, The hull on a straight run allows air under the hull giving the boat lift in return better speed, If you trim in on a turn the air lifts the rear of the boat and will stuff your nose and then you spin out, The hulls are fine and more manafactures are heading that way, even Baja is building a race boat with a step hull. Some companys just don't want to get new molds, So they put down step hulls.

Thanks a bunch for the replys, it sounds like the same ole thing. One needs input with any hot boat to get the most out of it and to stay out of trouble.
