The Donzi 18 has been in production since 1965, 38 years and still going. . .
The 16 started a year earlier but skipped 8-9 years in the 80's. Other than the 13' Boston Whaler which started in1958 but has changed design in the last few years, who has the longest record in production motor boats?

The first year of the 18 has been debated by many.
The catalogs say 1965. But I don't think anyone has come forward with anything but a 1966....

on Donzi's new web site they claim 1963 as the starting point for the '16,'19 & '28 after the sale of the company I guess the '18 was built. 1966 or 1967? anyway that's a long time. also it should be noted that the '18 being built today is not the same hull as the 1st ones. my '99 model has a rounded keel & I've been told that's to create a pad running surface since they put so much hp in them now. that being said at a glance they still look very much like the old ones.. and I'm happy to have the one I've got!! :D :D
