Very nice Jim, retro and cool at the same time.

Kitty obviously liked them too!

Can't wait to see the whole package for myself.

Thanks guys!

I pulled the old gauges out, and performed a WIRE-ECTOMY! I bet I pulled a pound of useless wiring out of that boat.

Then I separated the two pieces of the dash panel. They were in remarkably good shape considering the age! I wire brushed the aluminum base plate, then primed and painted.

I peened the creases out of the stainless part, then re-brushed it with 600 grit sandpaper. Put them back together, and installed Teleflex Heavy Duty Series gauges from BoatUS. The cool thing about having a removable dash is this: I was able to sit at my kitchen table, and install and prewire the whole thing. By the time I was done, I had three pigtails hanging out: GND, IGN, and lights. Popped it in the dash, hooked up the sender wires, and I was finished!

Now that you are finished, maybe you can help the RiverRat with his speedo!

It looks awesome and you did a fantastic job of "refreshing" the panel...

HB, first I gotta get through the OUPV and Mates Course! Oh my God! I think my brain is bleeding! :o

Then, I'll have to drag it through the mud with my tractor, (I'm not kidding!) Out to my driveway. So maybe the weekend of 15/16?

Toona, why does 'Rat need to fix his speedo? He could just put a mark at 70! From what I hear, it's usually doing about that all the time! :D

Jim, looks real nice! I used to have a 1969 18' Classic H/M edition and yours makes me miss it all the more. Tag along with the TX posse and bring your Classic over to Lake Cumberland in May. Sure would like to see your Classic up close!
