omc prop

[need for speed]

1993 22 with omc 454 , and king cobra drive i was thinking about changing my prop form a 3 to 4 blade any good ideas on what i should run on her ? pitch? make?

What are you running now? Pitch and WOT RPM. With that info some of the guys can help out.

I'm currently running a 23" pitch Turbo 1 prop on my 93 with the King Cobra, previous prop was a 21" OMC Viper.
For what it's worth, the Turbo was worth 4 mph increase in speed on GPS and it handles very well. I can't comment on what a 4 blade will do for you or why you would want a four blade prop with this setup.

:p Lizard and I Run a 14 1/4 x 23 SS TURBO....we see 4400 to 4600 RPM. Factory Specs on motor call for 4200 to 4600...according to original sticker on engine. We have the 370 Horse...with 4" Thru Hulls. We are very pleased with all characteristics of this prop...we see mid to upper 60's(63 to 67 MPH...GPS) ...unfortunately we seldom get to reach these speeds in the Bay....but I still get a S*#t Eat'n Grin every time we run her...what a great ride... :cool: ...Doc
