My hatch is lifting slower and slower each day and it's about time to trade her in for a new one.

I have a heavy hatch with '89 and twins so where can I find a new setup for a good price?

Bandit,

I had the same situation with my lift motor. Slower each day until it croaked.

The motors were originally Warner Linear. They've been bought out by Danaher Motion Linear Products, they call themselves today. The products can be purchased from:

Motion Industries
2525 Trailmate Drive, Suite 102
Sarasota, Florida 34243
1-941-755-4116

Your original "actuator", it's called, is a 12 volt 250 lbs capacity motor, model (Electrak 2) They come in 4,8,12 ft strokes. I bought the same thing in a 500lb capacity, (Electrak 10 with ball bearing screw drive system, which is very quiet), for only $30 more than the 250lb. The price was $372 + tax = $398.36. The other one lasted for 14 years. Now, I'm ready for another 40,000 lifts, or so says the catalog.

Speak to Dan Hopkins, there, if you like; but anybody will help you on the phone.

The actuator has to be shipped to you anyway, from the middle of the country; so, dealing with Sarasota, doesn't cost you any more. Donzi buys the actuators from these people.

Motion Industries is a franchise; so, there are many offices around the country. Maybe there is one near you.

Good luck,

Great info Donzigo!

I'll give Dan a call and hopefully I'll be getting my hatch back to speed :)
