Hello i have a 86 classic 18ft.,does anyone known what the piece of 3/4 plywood is used for that is installed into the fibergalss underneath the motor.I feel it might be used for support if the motor was to fall,put not really sure.Thanks for any help you can offer. Jeff

Should be the insert to screw down bilge pump and auto switch.

That's odd to put a hold down location their because in this boat there is not alot of room to get into to mount any thing.Thanks again Jeff

The 16 compartment is to be kind very snuggly, I know that what I have. That is the pad by the front of the engine correct. I forgot to ask, many boats have had alot of owner installed stuff so sometimes it hard to give the right answer.

I have an 1985 18' that is pretty stock. It only has about 6" wide flat that is glassed in, can't even tell that it's glass over ply, that the pump and switch are mounted to.
